Outreach

The children of God are called to worship God within the church, and as well, they are called to worship the Lord beyond the local assembly through their piety and the proclamation of the Gospel. The church is commissioned with the privilege and responsibility of proclaiming the Gospel to all men without distinction and this ministry of the church to the world comes from the very authority of Christ who commanded the disciples to go and make disciples of all the nations. We find in Scripture that the primary discharge of the authority of Christ is in the building of His church. A building made by His hands through His people. The disciples were to preach the gospel to all creation calling sinners to repentance for the forgiveness of their sins. When the church is committed to reaching the world around her with the gospel, she is truly committed to disciple making.

We believe that it is imperative that the church have a growing interest in reaching her local community and the nations, knowing that the Lamb of God has purchased for God, with His blood, men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and that He has made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth. This final truth is one of the premier bases for the very praise that is given to the Lamb of God. Therefore, it is our goal as a church to grow in faithfulness in the matter of proclaiming the glory of the risen Savior to all men without distinction.

A church's outreach ministry is its primary mission and that mission is to extend to the outer ends of the Earth as the Lord guides and directs. May the nations of the Earth give glory to the Lamb who was slain for our sins!

Look at the Heavens

Throughout the year we will sponsor outreach events called “Look at the Heavens”. These events will be held in the local neighborhoods of our church families and we will provide a simple presentation that describes the vast and beautiful Heavens that God has created. Following the presentation, and weather permitting, we will have a time of hands-on observation through one or two telescopes. It will be at this time that we hope to have opportunity to speak to our visitors about the more important message of the heavens. Please prayerfully consider how you can participate in this outreach ministry for the glory of the Savior.

The Story of Amazing Grace

Please be in prayer for the use of this outreach CD which is being provided to our members for the purpose of sharing the gospel through that familiar hymn by John Newton, “Amazing Grace”. This CD shares the story of John Newton's conversion while presenting the Biblical foundation for the Gospel, bringing to life the very words of the hymn itself.

In recent years many secular recording artists have included a performance of this song on their albums. As well, most funeral services will include this song in order to recall our need for God's mercy and grace. This is a song of worldwide familiarity, but many people, though familiar with the song in general, may not know what the song fully means when it refers to “amazing grace”. Please be in prayer that the true message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be heard by many through “The Story of Amazing Grace.”
